The Templemore 4 mile trail race was staged last Sunday in blustery conditions. We had seven members from the club taking part. First man home was Andrew Smyth with a splendid run to come across the finish line in third place. Next man was Ross Alexander having his first run in a while, when finishing a good fifth with Michael Carey not far behind making the top ten, and is improving with every run. We then had Jack Alexander finishing very strongly over his favourite training ground, and Tadhg Vaughan chasing hard not far behind. Having an excellent run was Eddie Cahalane with a big improvement on his previous race. It was great to see Laura Bourke on the start line again and was delighted to get around and looking forward to the future. The cross country is getting closer and its full swing ahead with the Novice the first day out in Moyne on October 6th.
Madeline Loughnane and Denis Shanahan provided two good wins for Crokes in the Emily 13k last week. Marie Fitzgibbon finished well in second place in the Ladies race and Martina Ryan took a good 4th place for Crokes. In the Templemore Trail 4 Mile Run on a blustery Sunday, Sept 15 Crokes runners again completed a double with Tony Fogarty winning this Track and Trail race and Marie Fitzgibbon taking first place in the ladies race.
