The draws for the Centenary Agri Mid Tipperary Senior hurling semi-finals have pitted defending champions Drom-Inch against Thurles Sarsfields in a mouthwatering clash due to be played in a few weeks time.
The second semi-final will see last weekends winners Upperchurch Drombane facing up to County champions Loughmore Castleiney in what should be another very interesting game.
Upperchurch Drombane had to play extra time against their neighbours Holycross Ballycahill in the quarter final tie last weekend in Boherlahan. And, in a highly competitive encounter they just about managed to shake off their rivals to book their place in the semi-finals - a position not new to this group of hurlers.
Sarsfields have been motoring very well so far this season and have been raking up big scores. Drom-Inch and Loughmore Castleiney too have been very solid in their performances, but the business end of the championship now is where all the interest is at.
It was pretty much on the cards that these clubs would make it to the semi-finals once they avoided each other and the divisional Board will be thrilled to have such high profile games in the offing.
The exact dates for the semi’s are not yet decided and will depand very much on Tipperary’s fixtures for the qualifiers . The qualifier draw is being made on Monday morning next.
