Hard luck to the community games team under TJ Alexander and his assistants who were unlucky to lose one-nil in the Munster semi-final in Tralee last Saturday morning. Well done to all involved on getting so far in the competition.
Well done to Karyn Clohessy, Linda King and Shane McGovern who took part in the nowhere to hide Boxind tournament in the Dome last Saturday night. Karyn and Linda won their bouts with Shane very unlucky not to get the decision.
An FAI summer soccer camp will be held in Newhill Park this year from July 15th-19th - open to boys and girls aged six to 14 years of age. All the participants recieve an eflow FAI summer soccer schools full umbrokit, backpack and football along with a certificate at the end of the week. Minor: Moneygall/Clonakenny were beaten by Lorrha by 2-14 to 2-8 in our first match of the north championship on Thursday night last. Our next group match will be at home to Templederry.
Under 16: The north Under 16 B hurling championship begins next Monday evening. We will play Silvermines in Moneygall in our first match.
Under 12: Our U12s played two matches last week, we were beaten by Portroe by 4-5 to 0-5 on Tuesday 25th, before beating Ballinahinch by 3-7 to 2-1 on Friday. We play Newport this Friday evening in Moneygall.
Cúl Camp: We will hold a registration night for this year’s Kellogg’s Cúl Camp this Thursday evening at 7pm in the GAA Centre. This year’s camp runs from July 29th until August 2nd.
Black & Reds: The results from our recent outing in East Clare Golf Club on Sunday 16th June were: 1st – Pat Sheedy, 41 pts; 2nd – Willie Greene, 40 pts; 3rd – Mike Ryan, 36 pts; Front 9 – Murt Deane; Back 9 – Clodagh Jones; Nearest Pin – Tom Hassett. Our next outing will be in Roscrea G.C. on Saturday, 13th July.
