Roscrea Rugby Club holds annual meeting

The Roscrea Rugby Club, A.G.M took place last Monday in the clubhouse and was presided over by President Michael Talbot.

Presidential Address

The first team had made a great start to the season and were unbeaten and top of the league for a period but then they lost a few key matches and dropped down the table, finishing in 4th position.

They had a great run in the provincial town cup when they reached the semi-final where they were unlucky to be beaten by  Longford. 

All in all it was a satisfactory season and the team has potential with a lot of young players making the break through. The second’s fielded every week again and showed great potential but did not get too many victories. 

They are a very young team and who fulfilled every fixture and will definitely improve. Congratulations to Captain Niall Carey, Coach Brian O Rourke, Assistant Coach John Douglas and Manager Ger Brussels
