A fantastic return by Jason Forde helped Silvermines to a five point victory over Moyne Templetuohy after two periods of extra time was required to see the North men through to the semi final.

The Silvermines man scored 2-15 with all bar nine points coming from play in a game that was well contested. There was never more than five points separating the teams which Mines had when Forde’s second goal arrived in the 48th minute Mines looked on the road to victory. However the Mid runners-up fought back and with the help of an Eoin Franks goal from a twenty metre free saw the game end all square at 2-15 each after sixty minutes.
