Drom & Inch 0-21
County senior hurling champions Drom-Inch are safely through to the next round of the County Senior hurling championship after thwarting Burgess’ ambitions for the seocnd year in a row.
In round 4 twelve months ago, Drom needed an injury time point by Seamus Callanan to progress, a win which kick-started their run to a first county title. On Sunday afternoon last, they were comfortable throughout, bar a fifteen minute spell at the start of the second half when a six-point half time lead had been whittled down to four as Burgess finally found some rhythm and had their goal chances to cut the lead further.
However, Drom reasserted their control in the final quarter, easing to a nine-point win as Burgess tired in the last fifteen minutes as the exertions of their win over Nenagh Eire Óg the previous Tuesday looked to have taken their toll. See this weeks Tipperary Star for full match report.
