Senior Football Final
JK Bracken’s 1-10
Loughmore-Castleiney ended J K Bracken’s brief tenure as Gleeson Quarries Mid senior football champions thanks to a point two minutes from time by Liam McGrath after an absorbing contest at Templetuohy on Sunday evening last.
It was a victory which typified all the great qualities of the Loughmore-Castleiney club which have stood to them so many many times in the past.
They looked like being pipped by an excellent Templemore outfit who had drawn level with five minutes to go and who had all the momentum at that time, but a Brackens error ceded possession to Loughmore who swooped downfield, working the ball to Liam McGrath and last year’s All-Ireland minor winning captain didn’t have to be asked twice as he looped over a great winning point.
It was very hard for the J K Brackens lads to take as they watched their championship campaign blow up with this defeat, following on their county loss to Killenaule a few days earlier. See this weeks Tipperary Star for full report.
