IT recruitment specialists e-Frontiers have donated €1,000 to the Children’s Medical and Research Foundation at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin - as local journalist Jackie Cahill prepares to run the New York City Marathon on their behalf.

Representatives of e-Frontiers, who also sponsor Thurles Sarsfields GAA, visited Crumlin last week to present a cheque to CMRF for €1,000.

Cahill will wear a tee-shirt around the streets of New York next Sunday bearing the e-Frontiers logo.

Brendan Carroll, nephew of former Kilkenny hurling star Ted Carroll, is Managing Director of e-Frontiers.

Carroll is a former Tipp senior hurler and was centre back on the Thurles Sarsfields team of 2005 that won the county senior championship for the first time since 1974.

Carroll represented Tipperary at left-half back in 1995, 1996 and 1997.

He said: “We at e-Frontiers are delighted to be associated with such a worthwhile cause. Based here in Dublin, we are aware of the magnificent work carried out by the people at CMRF and the Children’s Hospital.”
