Great greyhound racing in Thurles.
Featred on Saturday night was the final of the Thurles Track Supporters Club A6 Stake which was won by Elaine Corkery Leemount Fizz [Blackstone Gene – Ssportmans Queen] who came from behind. Here Knockboy Lily made the early running and was still in front trning for home where the winner came with a storming late run and got up to make it two career wins when getting u to beat the long time leader Knockboy by three quarters in a time of 29.53 with Rathbay Jack another five and a half lengths back in third place to take the winners prize of E900.
Fastest time of the night was in the eighth race when the Brendan Everard trained apple Stan [Hondo Black – Bisto Bear] owned by Catherine and Clive Taylor made every post a winning one going on to cross the line to make it five wins from eight starts when scoring by four lengths from Slaneyside Beryl in a time of 29.05 with Glengall Girl in third place.
Race one: The opener was won by te Niall Warren trained Colossal Risk [Hondo Black – Revenue Lady] in this A4 60yd race. Ownd by the Coloosal syndicate the winner led from flagfall and was never heded when crossing the line two lengths clear of Rorscach in time of 33.61 with Slaneyside Magoo another short head back in third place.
