On paper at least the former was meeting Foildubh on much more favourable than handicap terms and so it was hardly surprising to see him starting at odds of 2/7 but as things turned out he did not have things all his own way.

Odonimee set the pace but was done with after a bad mistake five fences out, Ruby Walsh sent Call the Police to the front soon afterwards however Paul Carberry aboard Foildubh never let him too far out of his sight and the pair jumped the second last almost in unison.
