Drom & Inch 0-23
DROM & Inch were crowned Premier League winners following a battling display at Templemore last Friday.
With Tipperary two days away from an All-Ireland semi-final, you have to question the wisdom of playing senior matches so close to county games.
Both sides were missing players, and while not to take away from a great display by Drom, it was obvious from a long way out that Sarsfields were missing their county players more.
There were two big differences between the sides – and both of them were on the Drom side, with an on fire Johnny Ryan sending over 12 points from all corners of the pitch, and Enda Walshe in the backline, who had a fantastic game shutting out any threat from Sars.
Indeed, the Thurles side was never allowed to get a clean strike on the sliothar, so well were they marshaled by the Drom defence, who prevented certain scores with a great display of blocking. But Thurles didn’t help themselves either by over-playing th e ball in an attempt to get into goal scoring positions. On countless occasions, they ran into a wall of green as they tried to make the breakthrough. See this weeks Tipperary Star for full report.
