Clonakenny GAA Club held its AGM on Jan 17th in Lismackin Hall.
In his Chairman’s address John Moloughney thanked everybody who helped out with all teams during the year. He also congratulated Willie Ryan on his Munster and All-Ireland success with the Tipperary Intermediate Hurling Team in 2013 and all players who played with divisional or counties teams over the past 12 months. Closing he wished everybody well for 2014 and hoped a big push could be made to finally achieve that elusive county success.
Membership is left once again at €50 for Adult players and €25 for Students and non-players. Membership can be paid to Club Registrar Jackie Keane and its vital all players pay their membership as soon as possible as all members must be registered with Croke Park.
Trainer and Selectors Vincent McKenna will once again train the Intermediate and Junior Teams this year. Outgoing Intermediate Selectors Michael Smith and Tim Shanahan and Junior Selectors Peter Byrne, Michael Carroll and Eamon Greed all stood down from their positions. All men spoke on the night and said while it was an honour to be involved with these group of players felt they couldn’t give the commitment required to these teams. The club would like to thank all men for the many hours they’ve given over the last few years. These positions will be filled in the coming weeks.
