Thurles Town suffered a home defeat on Sunday last, despite scoring 4 well taken goals against a spirited Rearcross side who went one better scoring 5.

Midway through the opening Town were 4-2 ahead with great finishing from Robbie Jordan (2) and Tom Brophy (2) A very determined Rearcross side hit back with 2 well taken goals to see the sides level at 4-4 at the break.

A well contested second half saw Town go close but it was the visitors who went 5-4 ahead with 16 minutes left to play. Town pressed hard in search of an equaliser but were unable to add to their tally, while Rearcross worked tirelessly to the end.

On Sunday next Thurles Town are home to Lough Derg in a League game with a 2pm kick-off. Players to report to the Greyhound Stadium at 1pm.
