Defending Munster and All-Ireland minor football champions Tipperary travel into the lions den on Wednesday evening next when they take on Cork in the championship semi-final in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

A huge game for the fancied Tipp lads, this is a repeat showing of last years minor final which Tipperary won in Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney. And, it will be the third time in four years that the counties have met at semi-final stage.

While Tipp have quite a few of the 2011 squad still available this time round, Manager David Power and his backroom team will be taking nothing for granted as they travel south for the big game.

The side has been preparing well for the clash and will bring much confidence with them having defeated Kerry in their own backyard in the first round. However, Cork will have a different style of approach and would like nothing more than to gain revenge for last years defeat by 3-11 to 1-9. In the 2010 semi-final Cork won by 2-12 to 2-9 at Semple Stadium and in the 2009 semi-final at Pairc Ui Chaoimh Tipperary won by 0-13 to 0-10 after extra time.

So, Tipp’s form is good in Pairc Ui Chaoimh and while both sides will have changed substantially since 2009, the Tipp lads won’t have any fear as they face the blood and bandages on Leeside.

The winner will be into the Munster Final and a certainty for an All-Ireland quarter final as well.

Throw in is at 7:30pm
