Tipp Town 1 - 5 Cashel Town
The Cashel girls travelled to Tipperary Town for their first ever U10 league game and they came away with a very well deserved win. Tipp started a little bit better, without really putting the Cashel girls under any pressure, but when the away side found their feet, they took over the game in every area of the field. The opening score came from Ella O’Dwyer, and was quickly doubled with a very neat finish from Evelyn Gayson Molloy. Just before half time, debutant Alicia Mazzola made it three for Cashel. Cashel’s defence were also keeping things very tight, and there were good performances from Emer Dwan and Abbie Moloney, plus goalkeeper Anna Fahie who did very well. In the second half, Cashel took the initiative again attacking constantly, and they were rewarded when after good work by cousins Ciara “Cici” Moloney and Grace Moloney, set up Alicia Mazolla for her second goal of the day. Tipperary did get a consolation goal after this but the game was finally put to bed when Evelyn Molloy scored her second of the day, to see the girls home with ease.
