Jack, David & Jack together with Jake Vermeer from Carrick-On-Suir A.C. put in a magnificent performance in the Boys U/13 4 x 100m Relay, taking on some very strong teams from Wexford, Kerry & Dublin to win gold & a National Title. In the Boys U/15 4 x 100m Inter-County Relays, Daniel Ryan was a very strong part of the Tipperary team which won Bronze on the day. This means the Club has won a total of 9 National medals over the 4 days of the National Juvenile Track & Field Championships, a fantastic result. Daniel Ryan won gold in the Boys U/14 80m & Long Jump, Silver in the Shot Putt & Bronze in the U/15 Relay, David Ryan won gold in the Boys U/13 Long Jump & Relay, Jack Ryan won Bronze in the Boys U/12 Long Jump & Gold in the Boys U/13 Relay & Jack Fallon won Gold in the Boys U/13 Relay. On Day 3 of the Woodie’s DIY AAI Juvenile Track & Field Championships, Ciara Mockler performed very well in the Girls U/16 Shot Putt finishing in 4th place with a personal best throw of 10.51cm, just 21cm short of the Bronze medal. Ciara has gone from strength to strength in this event & has improved by almost 60cm this year. She won Munster Silver in the Shot Putt & Discus this season & was 3rd in the AVIVA All Ireland Schools Track & Field Championships in the Junior Girls Discus. Well done Ciara on a great season of throwing.

At the Munster Juvenile “B” Track & Field Championships in Ennis, Co Clare on Sunday 22nd July, the Club was very well represented by 3 athletes, Anna & Dillon Ryan & Oran Mulhall. Anna won Silver in the Girls U/11 Ball Throw with a throw of 26.21m while Dillon won Silver in the Boys U/10 60m sprint & the Long Jump with a jump of 3.55cm, just 1cm short of the gold medal. Oran also competed very well when he threw 7.83m to win Bronze in the Boys U/13 Shot Putt. Congratulations & well done to all three.

Congratulations also to the Ryan family who travelled to Cork City Sports on Tuesday 17th July to take part in the Juvenile 300m Gala. Daniel finished 2nd in the Boys U/14 race, David was 3rd in the Boys U/13 race while Jack & Dillon both finished 4th in the Boys U/12 & Boys U/10 races. All were presented with medals & certificates & a great evening of athletics was enjoyed. Congratulations to Joe Moloney who won the Men’s 0/60 Shot Putt competition at the County Senior & Masters Track & Field Championships in Templemore Track on Wednesday 11th July. Joe threw 8.06m to win gold & he also won Bronze in the Men’s 0/60 Javelin with a throw of 14.31m.

Good luck to Daniel Ryan who will be taking part in the National Juvenile Combined Events Championships in Morton Stadium, Santry, Dublin on Saturday 4th August. Daniel will be the Club’s only competitor in these Championships & he takes part in the Boys U/14 competition which includes the 80m Hurdles, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Putt & 800m.

CABRAGH NATIONAL 12KG STONE THROWING COMPETITION

A revival of the ancient sport of stone throwing will be held at Cabragh, Holycross on Sunday 5th August. The National 12kg Stone Throwing competition will take place as part of the Cabragh Country Sports & Entertainment Festival. For more information, log onto www.moycarkeycoolcrooac.com.
