Results: Wednesday 1st January, Open 14 Hole Singles: Early morning strong winds and rain led to a reduction of members braving the elements early on Wednesday morning and consequently the first competition of the new year was cancelled.
of December 14 Holes Singles competition are: 1st Billy Gaffney 67 pts; 2nd Martin Scully 64 pts; 3rd John G. Ryan 63 pts; 4th John Franks 59 pts; 5th Cathal Lee 48 pts. The month of January competition is now in progress.
Sunday 5th January: Captains’ Drive-in: Despite the strong winds and heavy showers club members turned out in large number on Sunday morning to applaud and encourage the new captains Pat Foley and Carmel Vekins and presidents Ollie Killeen and Mary Ryan at their drive-in. The new office holders were lead to the first tee by piper John Moloughney, Templemore (he is also chairman of the Munster branch of GUI). Pat, Ollie, Carmel and Mary showed they had nerves of steel as their superb drives were smashed down the first fairway to the cheers of their onlookers. They are wished all the best of luck for their year in office. The mixed competition arranged to follow the drive-in had to be cancelled because of the inclement weather.

January competition: The competition for the month of January will start on January 2nd and will run until the end of the month and it will be also open to visitors. You can play any day of the week excluding Saturday and Sunday. It will be a 14 hole Singles Stableford with two best cards to count. Entry fee will be €5 for the first two cards and €3 for any subsequent cards. Visitors can play for €15 per round for the first two rounds and €10 for subsequent rounds. You can play as often as you want. Prizes will be presented equal to half of the total entry money received. Play from the white markers.
