Join Tipperary Regional Youth Service on Sunday October 6th as we say goodbye to Autumn with a fun family walk.
Where better to take this walk than the Eamonn An Chnoic Loop in Upperchurch. A walk that will take you through beautiful scenery, meadows, hayfields and of course the lingering legend that is Eamonn An Chnoic (Ned of the Hill) himself said to have been our very own Robin Hood; stealing from the rich and giving to the poor and of course saving the odd damsel in distress.
There’s sure to be plenty of locals on hand to fill us in on this loop’s fascinating history. The walk will start at 2PM Sunday 6th October 2013 - this walk will follow the Eamonn An Chnoic Loop in Upperchurch This is an easy walk along tracks and trails for approx. 8km/2.5hrs requiring minimal levels of fitness.
We will meet at Upperchurch Community Hall at about. 1.30pm where you can register: Adults€10, Students €5, U12 Free and €20 for Families (all monies raised go towards supporting the work of Tipperary Regional Youth Services). Tea & Snacks will be provided to all walkers in the community hall on completion. You will also be able to participate in a raffle for some lovely prizes. Tickets will be sold on the day.
This is sure to be a fun family venture with an amazing history lesson for the kids and you’ll be raising much needed funds for TRYS. Unfortunately you’ll have to leave the dogs at home.
