More Than Just Triathlon
Looking for something to do this summer? Why not check out our website carricktriathlon.com and join us for a training session. We have organised sea swim sessions, run sessions and cycle’s. Whether you are a budding triathlete, just into one aspect of the sport or looking for a social outlet, then Carrick Tri Club has something to offer you.
This weekend the RAS came to town and Carrick Tri Club showed up in force to cheer on the local boys who were racing for the Comeragh Cycle Team. This was followed by the Viking Sportif 100k & 150k cycle through the picturesque coastal towns of Waterford, Kilkenny and Wexford. Then we had the Tramore Hill Challenge. A fantastic day out on Main Street Tramore. With closed roads, a specially built starting ramp and on site BBQ it was set up to be the perfect day. The day began with a childrens race, followed by emergency service, fancy dressers and the more serious senior event.
Most of our crew took a break this weekend as they begin their taper to the June Bank Holiday Weekend. This weekend we have Francis, Andy and David racing in the Cork City Marathon, hopefully all goes well for them and they enjoy all 26.2 miles. We also have Catherine and Brianne travelling to Tyrone to compete in a Half Ironman as part of the Ironman training while Gerry, Yvonne and Larry are heading to Tenby in Wales to compete in Ironman distance training events as part of their training. Finally best weishes to all those traveling to Athy for the sprint, olympic and double olympic distance events, travelling are the two Gary’s, Brian and Richie.
