County Senior Road: The prospect of achieving 5 in a Row County Senior Team Titles looked like a difficult assignment for the Men’s Senior Team in Two Mile Borris on Sunday.

County Senior Road: The prospect of achieving 5 in a Row County Senior Team Titles looked like a difficult assignment for the Men’s Senior Team in Two Mile Borris on Sunday.

However, the Men’s team still finished in the Medals in a tight team contest that had Thurles on equal points (43) with the Runners-up with Dundrum the new Title Holders.

Shane Mullanney (pictured) was very competitive, as expected, finished 3rd in 34.53 just behind the winner Kevin Moore (Dundrum) and Danny Smith (2nd). Declan Doherty (37.35) in 8th and Dave Keneally in 9th place were next to finish with Billy Phillips following-up in 23rd place. On Billys heels was John O’Shaughnessy in 24th followed by Austin Ryan in 28th place.

In the Ladies Senior Race, Martina Ryan was first home in 11th place, followed by Marie Fitsgibbon in 14th.

Rebecca Power (21st), Sinead Carroll (24th) and Carol Phillips (25th) ran well to complete the Thurle Team which finished in 5th place in the Team Race. Well done to all who competed in the County Senior Road.

Fixtures: The County Juveniles Track Championships in Templemore on Sunday next April 29th at 11.30. for athletes U/9-U/12: Alex Crowley, Adam Daly, Colin Morris and Eoin Purcell to compete in the 60m,Long Jump, and 600m.Best of Luck.
