‘Climb for a better life’

Some Tipperary participants battling the arctic conditions on a (Plan B) 20km hike over Tork mountain overlooking the Lakes. ‘Beauty’s Home’ Killarney on Sunday 2nd March. The hike and climb for a better life is raising funds for an African water project. Challenge coordinator Willie Keane African Solas. The climb of Carrantuohill was deferred to a later date due to ice and severe weather forecast up over 1000meters of -3 to -5 with wind speed of 55/65 mph and chill factor of -12. The 20K (plan B) hike proved to be most exhilarating in artic and yet sunny conditions at times. A great weekend was had by all at the 4* Lake Hotel Killarney. Some 80 people will return on a date yet to be decided to finish the challenge ‘Climb for a better life’ supporting an African water project.
