Mid-Tipp Hillwalkers

Last weekend our 13th annual Autumn Charity Challenge in aid of visually impaired people took place amid the historic surroundings of the Cooley and Mourne Mountains. There was top class walking for all fitness levels with 16 participants making a first ascent of Slieve Donard the highest mountain in Ulster. There was also a tough crossing of the Cooley Mountains from Ravensdale to Carlingford which took almost 7 hours to complete alongside more gentle outings on the Barnavane Loop and through Slieve Gullion Forest Park.

Meanwhile, put the date, Sunday, Dec 18th, into your diary for this is the day of our annual Holly Walk. This walk is designed to suit the entire family and there is always plenty of seasonal carols and mulled wine on the route of what has now become a highlight of the walking year.

Finally we will be returning to the local hills on Sunday next Oct 23rd with the usual high level hillwalk leaving from outside Cashel firestation at 11am.
