Ironman Update: T - 4 weeks and counting. Its not long now to the first Tenby Ironman competition. The pre-race jitters are already starting to set in for some. This weekend at the Waterford Sportif Carrick had some of its future Ironmen on display. While Yvonne was just trying to cover the distance and stay within a group, Larry was there to impress. Kitted out with his TT-bike and pimped out wheels, Larry was keen to show the speed that he had developed after a hard season of Ironman training. On his home turf up among the beauty that is the Vee he excelled. Larry will be one to watch on race day - if you have slow motion action replay on your camera that is.

Caroline Kearney Memorial Triathlon 2011: Congratulations to Brianne Mullvihill on finishing in 2nd place at last weekends Mullingar Triathlon. Another blistering pace swim had Brianne in contention from the get go taking almost a minute lead on the eventual winner Jennifer Duffy of Piranah Club. They were matched on the bike too, but the run was where Brianne lost her minutes. Despite spending the last 4 months rehabilitating a calf injury, Brianne still had an impressive 10k in her, finishing it in just 43 minutes. It looks like her summer of disappointment is over and she is gearing up nicely to her first Ironman event.

Next week - Tramore Triathlon: Looking forward to catching up with everyone at the Tramore Triathlon. With entries available right up to the last minute - it gives us all the opportunity to get involved. See you there.
