Culahill Loop Beckons for Walkers

As a large number of our Friday walkers enjoyed some breath taking rambling among the snowed capped peaks of the French Alps in Chamonix, many thanks goes to Ray Creaney for leading out a fine walk to the Devils Bit on Friday last.

As a large number of our Friday walkers enjoyed some breath taking rambling among the snowed capped peaks of the French Alps in Chamonix, many thanks goes to Ray Creaney for leading out a fine walk to the Devils Bit on Friday last.

Our first walk of this years Friday night series of walks, more than eight weeks ago, was to the marvellous Cullahill Loop in Co Laois and we had a great ramble of almost endless variety on remarkably dry underfoot conditions. On this coming Friday evening, August 02, we are delighted to return to Cullahill and it is the last opportunity to walk this wonderful terrain for this season. The meeting point for this walk is at Slievenamon road Carpark, Thurles on Friday next, August 02, at 6.20pm - departing at 6.30pm and at Looby’s Tyres, Horse and Jockey at 6.40pm. Remember, our summer series of Friday evening walks, which will continue until the end of August, are open to all and are aimed at those seeking moderate level exercise off road on lower level, but highly scenic trails.
