Great weather, good crowd, high standard, great competition all added up to a simply fantastic day of athletics in Templemore Athletic Track on Sat last Sept 1st.
Switzerland, Iceland, Wales, Ireland, Munster, Connaught and Leinster competed in the Throws International Javelin, Shot, Discus and Hammer Throwing for men and women comprised the main competition, with local athletes running in an Open Mile event.
Full details are on the Tipperary A.A.I. notes/website. The main feature of the day was a National record in the Ladies Javelin, where Annita Fitzgibben (Ireland) broke the National record, with a throw of 52.97m.
