Fun Mini Marathon: Our 2nd Annual Fun Mini Marathon (10k) will take place in Moyne on Monday, June 6th at 3pm to coincide with the Ladies Mini Marathon in Dublin and the event is open to both Males & Females over 18 years. Such was the success of this event last year that it has now become an annual fixture and we are hoping that the entries will be even larger this year. The hassle of travelling to Dublin for the event is now a thing of the past so why not come along to Moyne Sportsfield and for an entry fee of just €12 you can walk, jog or run and raise funds for your own chosen charity. A Medallion will be presented to each person who completes the 10k as a momentum of the event and post race refreshments will be provided. Application forms can now be downloaded from the Tipperary Athletics website and when completed can be forwarded to our secretary Roemary Cleere. Rosemary can be contacted on 086 1010783. It promises to be a very enjoyable occasion.
Mini Marathon Training: Training for the mini marathon is now in full swing – anyone who wishes to train as a group should assemble at Moyne Sportsfield at 11.30am on Saturdays to walk, jog or run part or all of the 10k route, training also at the running track each Wednesday at 7pm. All are welcome.
Burma Challenge: Our annual Burma Challenge will take place this year in May as a preparation for the Mini Marathon in June. It will run over 5 Wednesday nights commencing on May 4th and finishing on June 1st. This is a fun event suitable for all fitness levels, you can run, jog or walk at your own pace and there is also a cycle challenge on Week 3. Entry fee is just €10 for the 5 weeks, so for just €2 per week you can join in the fun, post race refreshments and get a bit of exercise as well. So make a note of these dates in your diary!
