Carrick Tri Club Celebrations: Last Saturday presented many reasons to celebrate for Carrick-Tri Club. Catherine Brown and Shane Malloy finally tied the knot in what was a spectacular wedding. We wish them the best of luck. Elsewhere at the European Duathlon Championships in Limerick there was no time for partying, as Carrick Tri Club’s top duathletes put on a great performance. The dry conditions were welcomed as the athletes were faced with a highly technical course around closed streets within Limerick City Centre. The European age groupers race was won by Mark Nolan in 1.46. Congratulations to all our age group winners, especially Diane Behan who finished 6th (2.10); Kenny Curran finished 11th (1.57); Eddie O’Donoghue finished in 8th place (1.56); apologies to those who I have omitted, I did not have all the results as we went to print.
Carrick Tri Super Sprints: The super sprints are returning; 23APR, 30APR, 07MAY and 14th MAY. The race starts at 2 o’clock at the Sean Kelly Sports Centre in Carrick, with entries taken immediately prior to the race. There will be a 400m pool swim, 13k cycle and 3k run.
