Sympathy

Sympathy

The death occurred recently after a short illness, of Annie Coughlan, Gurteen, Rathcabbin which has left a huge void in the lives of her family.

Annie who was born and raised in the parish (nee Larkin from Derry), married fellow parishioner Jim Coughlan (Curragha) in 1956 and lived for a short time in Curragha before settled into farming life in Gurteen and to raising their family there. Big supporters of all things that happened in the parish, they loved to dance and they attended the many dances which was held in Rathcabbin Hall through the years. Indeed, Annie enjoyed and supported everything whether it be concerts, plays etc. that was held in the hall. She loved life, meeting people, chatting and getting out and about. She was a devout religious lady who was a member of the parish choir and she attended the Holy hour every Thursday in Rathcabbin Church. Annie never missed a Pilgrimage to Knock where she prayed for family and friends.

She had a great interest in what was happening both locally and nationally through reading the papers and in more recent years she quickly learned the use of texting on her mobile phone, having a facebook account and had her own Tablet to keep her up to date with all the news on-line. Over the years, both Annie and Jim established faithful and lasting friendships and they were also blessed to have good neighbours.

She will be sadly missed by long time friends and neighbours, but in particular by her family to whom sympathy is extended.
Pre-deceased by her husband Jim, sons Eugene and Edward, she is survived by her daughters Phil O'Hanlon (Parteen), Rita Coughlan (Annacotty), Annette Sullivan (Rathcabbin) and Fiona Ryan (Crinkle), sons Seamus and Kieran (Rathcabbin), sons-in-law Oliver, Mike and Teddy, daughter-in-law Concepta, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers Frank, Jim and Kieran (Limerick), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family, neighbours and friends.

After concelebrated funeral Mass in Our Lady Queen of Ireland Church Rathcabbin, burial took place in Bonoham Cemetery.

May she rest in peace with Jim, Eugene and Edward.
