Still time to come on board for Carrick Music Festival

The season has swung back into action with our crew involved in the Carrick Musical Theatre Festival which takes place on Saturday November 5th.

We will be rehearsing for this festival over the coming weeks with the first rehearsal having taken place on Thursday last in The Premier Hall - we continue again this Thursday evening for all interested in coming along. The rehearsal run will be very short - more details will follow on Thursday evening. Please confirm participation by texting your name to the society phone 085 2868726. If you cannot attend on Thursday but wish to participate, just let us know in time.

This promises to be a great initiative for us once again - our participants really enjoyed the experience last season and we are hoping to stage the concert in Thurles also at a later stage. So, please come along and join in the fun - the door is always open to new members also, and of course we would welcome former members back with open arms too.

We will also host our annual Golf Classic in Thurles Golf Club on Saturday 1st October and we are looking forward to having a large field taking part. Teams of four cost €100 and we encourage all our members to come along and get involved in some shape or form. Tee times can be booked in with John on 087 2188099 and we would be delighted to see all of last years teams, plus any new ones coming along and enjoying the fantastic course and the great apres-golf evening in the clubhouse later on, with a few songs guaranteed.

Finally, a date for the diary for members or indeed any musical theatre enthusiasts - the 25th anniversary staging of Miss Saigon live from the West End will take place in the cinema in Thurles Shopping Centre on Sunday October 16th and we would love to enjoy an evening out at the cinema with a gathering afterwards. Anyone who has seen Miss Saigon at the West End will testify to the magnificence of the show. So, keep that date in the diary and we'll have more information in later bulletins.
