Planning applications increase

Planning applications for the Thurles Templemore Municipal District have increased by 46% on the same period last year from January -May 2016, director of Planning Mr Carl Cashin has revealed this week.

Speaking at a meeting of the Municipal District in Thurles, Mr Cashin said that the increase was significant with a total of 95 applications received - 68 of which have been approved at this stage.

In total 450 planning applications have been received across County Tipperary in the same period and only 19 of those have been refused to date.

Mr Cashin also revealed that 102 complaints in relation to alleged unauthorised development from January to June 2016 were made, 17 of which were in respect of the Templemore Thurles District.
