Roscrea Shopping Centre

Roscrea Chamber Of Commerce would like to express its congratulations to Tiernan Properties regarding their efforts to get tenants into the vacant Roscrea Centre. The Chamber is working with Tiernan properties to help resolve the issues that remain regarding the Tesco development. Landscaping is one of the biggest issues and while more work remains to be done it is very encouraging seeing the efforts been made to breathe some life into the new plaza.

Shannon Development

Roscrea Chamber of Commerce has requested a meeting with Dr Vincent Cunnane, the CEO of Shannon Development to discuss the implications regarding the future of Shannon Development and how they will affect Roscrea. With a fully serviced twenty six acre business and technology park ready for occupancy in Roscrea it is vital for Roscrea that companies are familiarised with the site and convinced to invest in Roscrea.

Permanent TSB

Roscrea Chamber Of Commerce was disappointed to learn last week that the Permanent TSB Office will be closed in Roscrea. The local branch has been a member of the Chamber for the last number of years and always supports Chamber initiatives such as the Christmas lights. We wish the manager and his staff every success for the future.

Roscrea Town Enhancement Group

Convent Building

Roscrea Chamber of Commerce is trying to encourage North Tipperary County Council to put a preservation order on the beautiful trees on the convent property which is now up for sale. Ideally the Chamber would like to see the Council secure some of the convent land which would be ideal for a town park.

Equality Building

Concern and disappointment was expressed by Roscrea Chamber that the Equality Authority is vacating Birchgrove House. Representations will be made at government level to discuss the matter.

Tidy Towns

Roscrea Chamber of Commerce is calling on all businesses to acknowledge a recent letter that was distributed by “Roscrea Tidy Towns” calling on all businesses in Roscrea to help even more with the great tidy towns effort. The Chamber would like to thank Brian Colclough for sponsoring and caring for the hanging baskets which make such a great difference on main street.

Primary Care Centre

Roscrea Chamber Of Commerce was disappointed with the recent news that the proposed primary care/health centre for Roscrea did not receive funding under the recent shovel ready projects announced by the government. The Chamber was approached by the promoters of the project looking for support. The Chamber will now meet with local TD Noel Coonan on the matter.

Roscrea Chamber Of Commerce would like to congratulate Roscrea Tennis Club was for the great success that they have enjoyed in their first year at their new location. The Chamber secretary said he was in contact with the club recently and that they are delighted with their membership levels for their first year.
