Tipp drivers urged to watch out for farm traffic

North Tipperary motorists have been urged by a farmig organisation to drive extra carefully, especially on rural roads, as farm machinery activity increases in the spell of good weather.

Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers’ Association spokesperson on health and safety issues, John Flynn, said: “With the fine weather comes an upsurge in farming activity, particularly work involving tractors and other heavy machinery.

“I would urge those involved in farm work and all other road users to put safety first at all times and to be extremely vigilant,” he said.

With the fine weather forecast to last into next week, many farmers and silage contractors are expected to work late into the evening to take advantage of the good spell.
