A new town park, rediscovering the historic functions of Roscrea’s Market Square and breathing new life into the streets around Roscrea Town Centre are just some of the many great objectives documented in the much anticipated Roscrea draft enhancement plan.
he Chairman of the “Roscrea Enhancement Plan”, Brian King has encouraged the people of Roscrea to familiarise themselves with the draft enhancement plan for the town at their earliest convenience. The plan is on public display in the window of the former “Mullally Menswear” shop in Roscrea. The plan is also available for download at the following websites www.tipperarynorth.ie or www.paulhogarth.com. Brian King said that the plan is about the future of Roscrea. He thanked all the individuals, groups, committees and organisations that attended meetings, sent emails and made phone calls over the past year which has helped bring the plan to this stage. The Chairman stated that after months of hard work the draft plan has reached public consultation stage. Due to strict timeframes the public consultation stage will last until Monday the 19th of November.
It will be vital that any suggestions or proposed recommendations as regards changes to the plan be forwarded to the consultants before that date. Details available at the websites mentioned above. Alternatively the consultants and members of the committee will be in Roscrea on Wednesday the 14th of November to gather feedback. In this regard the Chairman thanked Michael Breen on behalf of the Enhancement Group for the use of his premises.
