Tipperary Stores Take B.E.S.T. Awards

Two Tipperary stores were rewarded for excellence in retail standards at the 2012 Gala Annual Conference and B.E.S.T Awards, which took place at Lyrath Estate, Kilkenny. Larkin’s Gala in Ballina achieved the ultimate honour of the Gold standard award while Harvey’s Gala in Thurles was awarded with a Bronze standard award.

The accolades were awarded following a comprehensive and independent assessment process under the Gala Business Excellence Standards Tool programme.

The awards, supported by Nestle Ireland, were MC’d by TV presenter Miriam O’Callaghan.

“To be recognised as a Gold standard Gala B.E.S.T award winner is a tremendous achievement for our store and acknowledges our focus on customer and community service.

All of our staff work tirelessly to deliver a top quality service to the local community,” commented Siobhan Larkin, of Larkin’s Gala.

Gerry Harvey, Proprietor of Harvey’s Gala said: “We are very pleased to have achieved the Bronze standard in the Gala B.E.S.T Awards. We continuously strive to improve our offering to customers.

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all of my staff for their hard work and effort. They are at the core of this store’s success.”

Speaking at the conference, Gala CEO, Gary Desmond, said: “I would like to congratulate our Tipperary winners. Both Larkin’s Gala and Harvey’s Gala are exemplary stores where retail standards and customer service ethos are second-to-none.

All stores demonstrate the on-going commitment to excellence that is at the heart of all Gala stores.”
