Tipperary’s minor hurlers returned to a heroes welcome to the Cathedral Town on Monday evening last when Archbishop Demot Clifford threw open the gates of the Cathedral of the Assumption to embrace the Irish Press Cup for the 19th time.

In keeping with a tradition going back to the start of the minor hurling championship, the team made their triumphant return to a reception on a cold evening, made warm only by the presence of so many Premier County folk – men, women and children who came to pay homage to the players, management and backroom team which had brought glory to Tipperary. It’s been a difficult end of summer for Tipperary but with four Munster titles and two All-Ireland’s in the bag, it’s been a pretty good year really. See this weeks Tipperary Star for full story.
