Rosary Procession from Thurles to Holycross a Great Success

Last Sunday (24th February) a pilgrimage dedicated to respect for the sanctity of human life took place.

The event was the initiative of several pro life groups within the diocese of Cashel and Emly and had the approval and support of the local parish clergy. The assembly of approximately one hundred and twenty people departed from Thurles Cathedral yard at 12.45pm and proceeded through Liberty square led by the Archbishop, Most Rev. Dermot Clifford.

Bathed in glorious Spring sunshine, our route took us past the Cabragh Wetlands towards our destination of Holycross Abbey. During the two hour procession, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and the Rosary were recited and hymns were sung. Prayers of healing were said for women who had been hurt by the grief caused by abortion so that they might once again find peace in their lives.
