Prestigious Award For Ballina Company

At the end of May this year, Richard Bruton, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation announced that the Irish Medical Devics Company, Technopath Manufacturing is to create 40 new jobs in Ballina by the end of 2013.

Operating from Fort Henry Business Park in Ballina for the past five years, this company, which already employs fifty people, is a privately help company that manufactures products for a number of multinational in-vitro diagnostic companies.

Its products monitor the quality of Hospital Laboratory Blood Tests and prevent the reporting of incorrect results thus ensuring optimal patient care. Just two weeks ago co-founder and CEO of Technopath Manufacturing, Malcolm Bell was presented with the “Emerging Medical Technology Company of the Year” Award at the sixth annual Medical Technology Industry Excellence Awards, which took place in Galway’s Radisson Blu Hotel.

Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland and the Irish Medical Devices Association jointly host these Awards. We congratulate Malcolm and his staff and wish Technopath Manufacturing continued success for many years. What a great success story for the district as we enter a New Year!
