Pearse McCan Branch O.N.E. AGM

The branch A.G.M. has been arranged for this Sunday evening, January 13th. at 6 o’clock in Tom Mahers Inn, Patrick Street, Templemore and all members are requested to attend. The branch was formed on the 28th. of March 2003 and this year marks its 10th anniversary.

Membership of O.N.E. is open to ex-members of the Permanent Defence Forces. Serving and ex-members of the Reserve Defence Forces are also eligible for membership. If you are interested in learning more about the organisation then come to the A.G.M. where you will be given good insight in to the role of the branch with no obligation on you to become a member.

The Organisation of National Ex-Servicemen & Women (ONE) is a registered company, limited by guarantee and has also been granted charitable status. The registered name of the company is Oglaigh Naisiunta Na hEireann Teoranta (ONET). The acronyms ONE and ONET are interchangeable. The company of ONET is governed by the Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association which are lodged with the Companies Registration Office. The company is also subject to company and charities legislation.

The main function of the company is to provide shelter and accommodation to those of our comrades who are in need of such support and in that regard we have three homes, one each in Dublin, Letterkenny and Athlone. The cost of running these homes annually is in the region of 600,000 euro and the company is largely dependent on its network of branches to provide financial support through national collections and other fund raising activities. The company also holds remembrance ceremonies annually for our fallen comrades.
