Nenagh Broadband Speeds

Nenagh Town manager Marcus O’Connor pointed out that there had been reports that the broadband speeds in Nenagh would be increased to 80KB when eircom has finished its upgrade. He said this should have been stated as 80MB.
He also pointed out that the lime problem in the water pipes at Benedine was not particular to that area, but that lime was in the town’s water system. However, the problem is with small amounts of sediment as the pipe is a dead end pipe, and it will be fixed later this year under the water rehabilitation programme.
He told Cllr Conor Delaney that it would be a “major job” to bring Benedine under the town sewerage scheme as pumping stations may be required.
He said residents had two options – the current septic tank / percolation area or to set up a group scheme. However, he believed this would be “prohibitively expensive”.
And he told Cllr Hughie McGrath that a “fairly significant” length of pipe would be required to bring a system from Benedine to Ballygraigue, even if the gravity flow was good.
