Morris Calls For HIQA Investigation

Cllr. Seamus Morris has tabled a Notice of Motion for the January meeting of Nenagh Town Council seeking a HIQA investigation into the “unsuitable conditions” at Limerick Regional Hospital. The Notice of Motion reads: “in light of recently announced trolley numbers in the Limerick Regional Hospital that Nenagh Town Council writes to our local Oireachtas members in Tipperary, HSE West, Health Unions and the Irish Medical Organisation looking for direction as to the best way to get HIQA to investigate the unsuitable conditions experienced by staff and patients in the so called Centre of Excellence in the Limerick Regional Hospital which hasn’t turned out to be the answer to decentralising safely services from the defunct Nenagh Genaral Hospital and soon to be defunct Ennis Hospital”

Cllr. Morris said: “This comes in the light of the refusal of the HSE to answer questions already put to them on behalf of the people of Nenagh and also an earlier request to HIQA from Nenagh Town Council to investigate our replacement services which was ignored and the united agreement from all political parties for a HIQA investigation into the conditions at Limerick Regional Hospital”.
