Major Drugs Haul in North Tipperary

As part of an on-going investigation into the cultivation and sale and supply of Cannabis in the Thurles, Co Tipperary area, Gardaí from the Drugs Unit attached to Thurles searched a premises at Moyne, Thurles on Thursday afternoon (21/3/13) and seized Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €160,000 (subject to analysis)

A 52 year old man was arrested at the scene and was detained at Templemore Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2, Drug Trafficking Act 1996 in relation to this investigation. In a follow-up operation a 32-year-old man was arrested and was detained in Thurles Garda Station also under Section 2, Drug Trafficking Act 1996.

Investigations are continuing.
