Magdalene Survivors Deserve Apology - Kelly

Alan Kelly TD, Minister for Public Transport and Commuter Affairs has said that he believes that the Magdalene survivors should receive a state apology following the publication of McAleese report on the Magdalene laundries. Minister Kelly said “it is unacceptable what women went through in these laundries, they worked hard, making money for the laundries in very harsh conditions without payment, all of which was overseen by state officials”.

“Successive governments have failed these women, it’s time to do the right a thing, and give these women what they deserve”.
