Bus Service to be Returned to North Tipp
Public Transport Minister, Alan Kelly, has welcomed the return of a morning bus service linking Nenagh, Roscrea and other villages to Dublin.
The 7:30am service leaving Limerick for Dublin had been withdrawn following Bus Eireann’s most recent timetable changes. However, Minister Kelly has been working with both Bus Eireann and the National Transport Authority to have the service restored.
“I welcome this development and it will give all sides, drivers, operators and customers a chance to assess the demand level for this service. This is a service Bus Eireann operates in a private capacity and I am delighted for both the local workers and local passengers that they have agreed to re-instate the service. This will be very helpful for many people accessing medical appointments and education opportunities,” stated Minister Kelly.
The service will be re-introduced from March 4th on a Monday to Saturday basis. It will serve all locations from Daly’s Cross to Roscrea as well as Mountrath and Portlaoise. The bus will depart Nenagh at 8:10 am and Roscrea at 8:40am and serves all locations in between. It will leave Dublin at 12:15am and arrive in Roscrea for 14:15pm and Nenagh at 14:50pm.
