St John the Baptist Schools recently presented Ciara Casey with a cheque for €1030 for her family’s chosen charity Aoibheann’s Pink Tie. Cashel girl Ciara has been receiving treatment for serious illness over the past few months. The pink tie organisation helps and support children and their families during their child’s battle to beat cancer.

The boys and girls raised the money through a dress up day held before the Halloween break. The response from the pupils and their families was testament to the worthiness of the cause, and Ciara’s close connections with the local community.

Proud father Peter accompanied his beautiful daughter to the school, and he was visibly overwhelmed with the gesture.

“Ciara is a real fighter, and is doing quite well at present. Aoibheann’s Pink Tie has been of great support to us and I will be really proud to present the charity with this money.”

The school community are humbled and honoured to be able to support Ciara and her family, and wish them the very best in the future. We look forward to welcoming her next time as a pupil.
