Charity CD
Singing sensation Dylan Rooney who recently won "Roscrea's Got Talent" has launched a CD for Christmas in aid of "The Children Of Chernobyl". The CD is modestly priced at just E10 and will be available from "The Music Store", Roscrea from this Thursday the 17th of December. Dylan also won "Tipp's Got Talent" in Cloughjordan on Sunday night so it's a pretty safe bet to say we have a real star in the making in our midst's in North Tipperary. The CD is expected to sell quickly and will be an ideal stocking filler this Christmas.
Sports Ability Club
Our club is now up and running since June'09. We meet every second Saturday from 10am to 11.20am in Colaiste Phobal Roscrea. Also from the 2nd December we will be doing Tae Kwon Do from 7pm-8pm in the Abbey Hall. We now have 15 members all ranging from age 6 to 16. Art Exhibition
Following her successful exhibition of oil paintings in Racket Hall recently, Caoimhe Arrigan's paintings now move to Roscrea library for the month of December. The works are mostly local topographical scenes, but highlights include a stunning view of Cashel and a panoramic seascape of Sligo Bay. Musical Society
Roscrea Musical Society are delighted to announce that this years platinum (70th) annual production will be "Guys and Dolls" and it will run from Saturday 24th April - Saturday 1st May 2010. Rehearsals will be starting in early January ands anyone interested in joining should contact any committee member or watch this space more details. The society are always delighted to get new people involved whether that is onstage or working behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the show. This year is sure to be a great success following on from lasts years highly entertaining 'Calamity Jane'. Many events are being organised to celebrate the societies 70th annual production so keep an eye out for more details.
High School Musical
Children and Teenagers who are interested in performing in a dance performance in 2010 based on High School Musical are advised that Dance classes and rehearsals for this show are being held at The Abbey Hall Community Centre, Roscrea on Tuesday evenings. Christmas Storytime in Roscrea Library
What promises to be a very nostalgic and enchanting afternoon for or 3 – 7 year olds will take place on Monday, December 21st at 4pm. A Christmas Storytime special will take place and all are invited to come along.
Lions Club
Sponsorship cards were distributed to many local businesses this week as part of the Lions Club "Christmas Tree Light" fundraising project. Each light costs just €5 and all funds raised from this worthy project will go towards helping needy families in the Roscrea area this Christmas.
Roscrea Comhaltas
Roscrea Comhaltas will be holding a Christmas Carol Service in St Cronan's Catholic Church on Sunday 20th December at 7.30pm. This evening will include Roscrea Senior and Junior Comhaltas, Roscrea Communtiy Choir and Roscrea Folk Group. It is sure to be a most entertaining and uplifting night so make sure and put it into your diary. Admission is free, however a voluntary donation if desired can be given at the church door and will be divided between the Dean Maxwell Home and a Parish in Lima in Peru.
Rugby Notes
Monthly Draw
The monthly club draw is about to start. This draw goes on for six months and is organised by the Roscrea RFC Supporters Club. Promoters are requested to have their cards back by the weekend. 1st prize is €500.00 every month and there are also many other monthly prizes including a promoters prize.
Boxing Club
Training will take place on both Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8pm. New members are very welcome.
