2nd Phase of Graveyard Wall to begin – Cllr. Michael Smith

Cllr Michael Smith

Cllr Michael Smith

The first phase on the front boundary wall at Courganeen Graveyard near Roscrea was completed last year and it has given a nice face lift to the area. Hopes were high that the rest of the boundary wall which was very unsightly and dilapidated condition might be undertaken.

An application for funding was made and has been approved to carryout these works. Cllr. Michael smith told The Tipperary Star this week that “work will begin on the boundary wall next month. Our application, which I am delighted was successful, and will not only remove the unsightly and broken down wall, but will also provide much needed additional car parking. All the rotten brambles, briers etc will be removed and the ground levelled for parking. A new landscape will emerge, we all take great pride in our home area and this is another step forward for us”.

Cllr. Smith concluded by acknowledging the assistance of Roscrea Area Engineer Mr. John Jones, North Tipperary Planning Authority North Tipperary leader Partnership in ensuring that works could commerce.
