Thurles Potholes Call - Ryan

Thurles Independent Councillor Jim Ryan has this week called on Thurles Town Council to start the process of taking over the responsibility of the Cluain Glas housing estate in the town.

In a statement to the Tipperary Star Councillor Ryan stated that he has been raising this issue at council meetings for some time is now frustrated at the lack of progress made.

“The main problem is that the council will not repair the potholes because it is a private estate that the council have not taken it over. Until the council take it in charge then these potholes will not be filled in. The residents currently have nowhere to turn as the builders of the estate are no longer trading. As a result issues within the estate are at a stand still with residents unable to have a point of contact or body to sort out any problems within the estate.

“I again raised this issue at our last area council meeting and I outlined my dissatisfaction at the current situation facing the residents of the estate. I called on the council to initiate the process of taking it in charge so that the potholes can be sorted. I will keep raising this issue until a satisfactory outcome is achieved,” Cllr Ryan said.
