Thief or thieves make hay while the sun shines

An opportunistic thief or thieves took E1,000 from the house of a man who was sunbathing in his garden in Ashbury, Roscrea.

The victim is understood to have dozed off in the afternoon sun between 3pm and 3.20pm on Saturday, May 31, when the culprits or culprit struck, stealing the man’s wallet from his trousers and then ransacking the house for more cash.

The gardai in Nenagh are also investigating the theft of a power washer from a garden shed in Ballycommon, Nenagh, on Thursday, May 29, sometime around 3.30pm. The washer is valued at E400.

Meanwhile, the gardai seized three cannabis plants during a planned raid on a house in Cormack Drive, Nenagh, on Thursday, May 29.

The Vodafone shop at Main Street, Roscrea, was broken into over the weekend and E25 taken from the store. No property was taken during the break-in.
