Support for St. Anne’s

In 2007 at the request of the HSE, the Daughters of Charity took over the running of what is now known as St. Anne’s Services.

The local management team remains in place and are now supported by the Central Management Team of the Daughters of Charity.

St Anne’s campus supports 131 residents and provide day placements to over 125 people. The service finds it very difficult to continue to provide care to the quality and standard they would like and discretionary spending like outings and upgrade of transport for service users etc. has been stripped from the system as finances are at such a low base at this point in time. Traditionally, the Parents and Friends of St. Anne’s have been involved in fundraising and have contributed much appreciated additional funding to help deliver various projects. “Unfortunately, fundraising is even more important now and we are going to have to rely on it to try to improve and to give a better quality of life for all of the people who use our service,” says Services Manager Catriona Larkin.

Recently, the Parents and Friends Group organised a Golf Classic in Roscrea Golf Club, a raffle and have been involved in church gate collections. “Last year €8,660 of money fundraised went to the fit-out of a new house which we purchased for residents in the Roscrea area. Also, there will be a Golf Classic held on June 14th in Roscrea Golf Club. Associated with the Golf Classic will be an annual raffle and tickets will be on sale soon. There will also be a church gate collection later in the year. The focus of the fundraising for 2014 is to replace some of our ageing fleet of vehicles and we hope to be in a position to purchase at least one new vehicle. We look forward to your support and if you are interested in the Golf Classic or in helpingthe fundraising efforts, please contact Martin Slattery or Joe Dooley.” Tel: 0505 22046 or email
