Secondary Schools in Tipp get connected

Alan Kelly TD, Minister for Public & Commuter Transport has welcomed

the news from Minster Pat Rabbitte that the final phase of the

national roll out of 100mps will see the second-level schools in

Tipperary connected except for one school which for a number of

reasons will see a separate mini-competition organised.

Minister Kelly said “This is very welcome news for the schools. The

national roll-out of broadband connectivity will see all second level

schools in the country having industrial broadband before the start on

the school year in September. Completing the national programme will

mean that all our secondary schools will have be equipped with

top-of-the range future proofed broadband, enabling and motivating

schools to utilise the teaching and learning opportunities that the

internet provides.

Minister Kelly concluded “A modern broadband infrastructure in all our

secondary schools enhances the education of our young people”.
